Privacy, the short version.
We sell software that keeps your data off other people's computers. It would be strange to run this website any other way.
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no fonts, scripts or images from anyone else. Nothing here tracks you. The only thing that collects information is the enquiry form, and we use what you type there to write back to you.
The enquiry form
If you fill in the form on the contact page, you give us your name and email address, and optionally your organisation, an estimate of how many people will attend, which licence you're interested in, and whatever you write in the message box.
That goes to our own mailbox as an email. We use it to:
- reply to you;
- work out which licence suits your event, and prepare a quote or invoice if you want one;
- keep the ordinary business records we're required to.
We do not add you to a mailing list, and we don't sell, rent, trade or share your details with anyone for their own purposes. If our correspondence with you goes nowhere, the email stays in our records until we no longer need it, and you can ask us to delete it sooner.
What the website itself does
- No cookies. We set none at all, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
- No analytics or tracking pixels. We don't know how many people visit, which pages they read, or where they came from. We are at peace with this.
- No third-party anything. No web fonts, no embedded video, no chat widget, no social buttons, no advertising network. Every byte of this site comes from this site.
- The live demo runs in your browser. The ballot you rank on the home page is counted locally on your own device and never sent anywhere, including to us.
Hosting
The site runs on Cloudflare's network. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of a request, such as your IP address, the page requested and your browser's user agent, in order to serve the page and to protect the site from attack and abuse. We keep operational logs of that kind for diagnostics. We don't use them to build a profile of you, and we don't combine them with anything else.
Your enquiry is delivered as email, so it passes through mail infrastructure in the ordinary way and rests in our mailbox.
The Conclave software is a different matter
This policy is about this website and about talking to us. It is not about what happens inside your own Conclave installation.
When you run Conclave, it runs on your hardware, on your network. Attendee names, ballots, chat, questions and documents live in a database file on your machine. It makes no outbound calls, sends us no telemetry, and does not check a licence server, so we receive nothing about your event and could not hand it over if someone asked. For that data you are the custodian, and your own privacy obligations apply to your attendees.
If you send us logs or a database file while we're helping you with a problem, we treat that as your confidential material, use it only to fix the problem, and delete it afterwards.
Your choices
Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. Write and we'll sort it out. We try to handle personal information the way the Australian Privacy Principles set out, and if you think we've got something wrong, tell us first so we get the chance to put it right.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. We won't quietly start collecting something and leave this page saying otherwise.
